Game On Events Tournament Rules

Game Format
3-Game Guarantee: Each team is guaranteed two (2) pool play games followed by single elimination bracket play.

 

Divisions: D2 and Open Divisions available.

 

Game Play Rules
Time Limits:

 

Pool Play: 1 hour 45 minutes

 

Bracket Play: 1 hour 45 minutes (unless otherwise specified)

 

Inning Limits:

 

9U–12U: 6 innings max

 

13U–15U: 7 innings max

 

Mercy Rule:

 

15 runs after 3 innings

 

10 runs after 4 innings

 

8 runs after 5 innings

 

Roster & Eligibility
Rosters must be submitted prior to the first game.

 

Insurance is required for all teams and must be submitted before play begins.

 

Player Eligibility:

 

Players may only play on one roster in the same age division.

 

Age verification must be available upon request.

 

Pitching Rules
Pitch count limits follow USA Baseball Pitch Smart Guidelines:

 

9U–12U: Max 85 pitches per day

 

13U–15U: Max 95 pitches per day

 

Coaches are responsible for monitoring pitch counts. Violations may result in forfeit.

 

Lineups & Substitutions
Teams may bat 9, the full lineup, or use a DH/EH.

 

Free defensive substitutions allowed if batting entire lineup.

 

Courtesy runners allowed for pitcher and catcher (must be a player not currently in the lineup or the last batted out).

 

Sportsmanship & Conduct
Ejections: Any coach or player ejected must sit the remainder of the current game and the next game.

 

Zero Tolerance Policy for fighting, abuse toward umpires, or unsportsmanlike conduct.

 

Weather Policy
Game On Events will make every effort to ensure all teams play their guaranteed games.

 

If weather forces cancellation:

 

0 games played: Full refund (minus $75 admin fee)

 

1 game played: 50% refund

 

2 games played: No refund

13U Division
Players born on or after May 1, 2011 are eligible.

 

Grade Exemptions: Each team is allowed up to 2 players in the 7th grade who turn 14 before May 1, 2024 — but those players must be born on or after January 1, 2011.

 

12U Division
Players born on or after May 1, 2012 are eligible.

 

Grade Exemptions: Each team is allowed up to 2 players in the 6th grade who turn 13 before May 1, 2024 — but those players must be born on or after January 1, 2012.

 

11U Division
Players born on or after May 1, 2013 are eligible.

 

Grade Exemptions: Each team is allowed up to 2 players in the 5th grade who turn 12 before May 1, 2024 — but those players must be born on or after January 1, 2013.

 

10U Division
Players born on or after May 1, 2014 are eligible.

 

Grade Exemptions: Each team is allowed up to 2 players in the 4th grade who turn 11 before May 1, 2024 — but those players must be born on or after January 1, 2014.

 

9U Division
Players born on or after May 1, 2015 are eligible.

 

Grade Exemptions: Each team is allowed up to 2 players in the 3rd grade who turn 10 before May 1, 2024 — but those players must be born on or after January 1, 2015.

 

8U Division
Players born on or after May 1, 2016 are eligible.

 

Grade Exemptions: Each team is allowed up to 2 players in the 2nd grade who turn 9 before May 1, 2024 — but those players must be born on or after January 1, 2016.

 

Pitching Rules – Game On Events
These pitching guidelines are designed to prioritize player safety while maintaining competitive balance.

 

General Limits (7U–14U)
Outs Limit: Each player is allowed 24 outs over a 3-day period.

 

Daily Rest Rule: If a pitcher records more than 9 outs in a single day, they must rest for 2 full days.

 

Pitch Count Limits:

 

100 pitches max over 2-, 3-, or 4-day events

 

140 pitches max over 5+ day events

 

Same-Day Usage
A player may pitch in more than one game in a day, as long as they do not exceed the daily out or pitch count limits.

 

Finishing the Batter
A pitcher may finish the current batter if they reach the event pitch limit during an at-bat.

 

Example: A 13U pitcher reaches 99 pitches at the start of an at-bat — they may complete the at-bat before being removed.

 

Pitcher Re-Entry
Once a pitcher is removed from the mound, they may not return to pitch in the same game.

 

Rest & Appearance Restrictions
A pitcher cannot pitch three consecutive days, regardless of pitch counts.

 

A pitcher cannot appear in three games in the same day, regardless of pitch counts.
